On the morning of May 26^th, our college welcomed a group of 52 international students from Kazakhstan Almaty Polytechnic College (abbreviated as “APC”) and held the Opening Ceremony of the “Kazakhstan International Students Information Security Technology Application Training Program”. The party member and vice president of ZJCST, Yan Li, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.

    Yan Li delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the whole college in the opening ceremony. He stated that the arrival of this group of Kazakh students is a vivid practice of our college responding to the “Belt and Road” Initiative and deepening the the internationalization of education. As the first educational cooperative program that we hosted with a central Asia institution, this one-month training program is going to center on the field of information security technology application, and will help Kazakh students master the advanced technology, build up a bridge of joint-cultivation of talents between China and Kazakhstan, and strengthen the communication and exchange among the youth of both countries through theoretical lessons, field trips, and cultural exchange activities. Yan Li wished that the friendship between ZJCST and APC can be constructed through this program, and looked forward to the future cooperation between the two institutions.

The class teacher of the School of Artificial Intelligence expressed his empathy towards the international students on their coming training life and stated that they would tried the best to offer supports to Kazakh students in their study and daily life and looked forward to a best time of training.

Leading teacher and Deputy-director of the Education department of APC, Mrs Abdraimova Assyl expressed her sincere gratitude towards the warm welcome received from ZJCST and stated that the exchange with ZJCST would inject dynamic to the vocational education of the two countries. Leading teacher, Ms Bassitova Nazgul read the letter by President of APC, M. Omarbekov, which expressed great importance to this cooperation. President of APC stated in the letter that this cooperation is also a milestone of the internationalization of APC, which not only bring in enriched academic exchange, but also lay a solid foundation of the future exchange and cooperation between the two institutions. Kazakh student representative, Usenbekov Amir, stated that he was grateful for this study abroad opportunity and would obey the rules and regulations and would make the most of the experience of studying and growing in the next one month.

The atmosphere of the ceremony was filled with the integration of China-Kazakh cultures. Kazakh student Bolat Zhuldyz brought us to the beautiful prairie and mountains in Kazakhstan with her enthusiastic ethic dancing Kara zhorga; Akhan Olzhas and Aitzhanov Eraly played with their unique Donbula instruments, and the melodious sound of Donbula wafted through the venue, showing everyone the charm of Kazakh steppe culture. The Kazakh teachers also presented handicrafts symbolizing Kazakhstan culture to the college, conveying the beautiful meaning of "Silk Road Connecting Hearts".

With the start of this one-month study program for Kazakh students at our college, a new chapter has been opened in China-Kazakhstan vocational education cooperation. The 4,500-kilometer education dialogue is not only a vivid demonstration of the people-to-people bond of the Belt and Road Initiative, but also a demonstration of the responsibility of China's vocational education to help build a community with a shared future for mankind through technological empowerment and cultural mutual learning. In the future, the college will continue to deepen international exchanges and cooperation and cultivate more international technical and skilled talents.
